Hi, I’m Dr. Bill Dyment. Many of you know me as America’s Team Doctor- speaker, consultant, and executive coach. I am also a licensed psychologist with more than 30 years of clinical practice and see a number of therapy clients each week as well, upon request.
I help adults overcome personal and professional roadblocks, navigate difficult transitions, and move forward with greater clarity and confidence.
My practice also includes a limited number of high school students preparing for the professional world who may be struggling with anxiety, stress, confidence, motivation, relationships, or the pressures of adolescence.

When Success Doesn’t Feel Like Enough
You Can Be Successful—and Still Feel Stuck
Many of the people I work with are capable, responsible adults who are accustomed to solving problems. They’re often the person other people turn to.
But success doesn’t make you immune from anxiety, burnout, difficult relationships, self-doubt, loss, or uncertainty about what comes next.
Sometimes the most difficult problems aren’t the ones we can’t solve. They’re the ones we can’t see clearly because we’re standing in the middle of them.
- Accomplishing a lot but enjoying it less
- Overthinking decisions you once made easily
- Feeling burned out or emotionally exhausted
- Struggling with an important relationship
- Procrastinating or getting in your own way
- Facing a career, family, relationship, or life transition
- Successful on paper—but wondering, “Is this really where I want to be?”
A Different Kind of Therapy
Therapy That Looks Back—and Moves Forward
Some therapy focuses primarily on understanding the past. Some coaching focuses almost entirely on the future. I believe both can matter.
We may need to understand experiences, beliefs, relationships, or patterns that continue to affect you today. But we’ll also focus on where you want to go—and what needs to change to get there.
WHAT’S HOLDING YOU BACK → UNDERSTAND → CHANGE → MOVE FORWARD → WHAT’S PULLING YOU FORWARD
The objective isn’t simply greater insight. It’s meaningful change in your real life.
How We Work
A Practical Approach to Change
1. Identify the Roadblocks
We identify patterns that may be quietly working against you—avoidance, self-sabotage, anxiety, unhelpful beliefs, perfectionism, unresolved experiences, relationship patterns, or blind spots.
2. Clarify Your Direction
Feeling stuck doesn’t always mean you need more motivation. Sometimes you need greater clarity. We’ll identify what matters most, examine difficult choices, and translate broad intentions into specific next steps.
3. Build Lasting Change
Insight matters. So does action. We’ll work on the behaviors, relationships, boundaries, habits, and support systems that can help turn insight into meaningful, sustainable change.
Areas of Focus
What Can We Work On?
Anxiety & Overthinking
Quieting the mental noise, understanding worry, and responding to life’s uncertainties more effectively.
Relationships
Understanding recurring patterns, communicating more effectively, establishing boundaries, and making thoughtful relationship decisions.
Life Transitions
Working through changes involving career, family, parenting, relationships, retirement, aging, loss, or an unexpected new chapter.
High School Students
I work with selected high school students experiencing anxiety, stress, confidence or motivation concerns, relationship challenges, difficult transitions, or simply feeling overwhelmed by the expectations around them.
Stress & Burnout
Restoring perspective, energy, boundaries, and a healthier relationship with responsibility.
Career & Professional Challenges
Navigating workplace relationships, career decisions, leadership pressures, professional uncertainty, and work-life conflict.
Feeling Stuck
Identifying the patterns and blind spots that keep you from making changes you already know you want to make.
My approach with adolescents is practical, respectful, and focused on helping them develop greater insight, resilience, confidence, and effective ways of handling the challenges in front of them.
Professional Experience Matters
Therapy Designed With Professionals in Mind
One thing that distinguishes my practice is the amount of time I have spent both inside the therapy room and inside organizations.
For more than three decades, my work has included psychology, organizational consulting, leadership development, executive work, and professional speaking. That experience gives me a practical understanding of the pressures that accompany demanding careers.
High Expectations • Leadership Responsibility • Decision Fatigue • Organizational Politics • Burnout • Career Uncertainty • Work-Life Conflict
You shouldn’t have to spend half the session explaining the realities of professional life. I understand that world.
About Dr. Dyment
Meet Dr. Bill Dyment
William “Bill” Dyment, Ph.D. — Licensed Psychologist

For more than 30 years, I have helped individuals and organizations navigate challenges, overcome obstacles, improve relationships, and make meaningful changes.
My professional life has crossed several worlds—psychology, organizational consulting, leadership development, coaching, writing, and professional speaking.
I have worked extensively overseas and in the Los Angeles area for most of my career and with clients of many cultural backgrounds and faith traditions. I now reside with my family in Phoenix.
For clients who share my Christian faith and would like their beliefs to be part of the therapeutic process, I am comfortable integrating this perspective into our work.
My role isn’t to tell you how to live your life. It’s to bring psychological expertise, experience, perspective, and honest conversation to the process of helping you determine what works best for you.
Good therapy should make a difference outside the therapy session.

Getting Started
What Happens in the First Session?
You don’t need to arrive with a perfect explanation of what’s wrong. We’ll start with a conversation.
I’ll want to understand what brought you in, what’s happening now, what you’ve already tried, where you feel stuck, and—perhaps most importantly—
What would you like to be different?
From there, we’ll begin identifying both the issues contributing to the problem and practical ways to move forward. You’ll also have an opportunity to ask questions and decide whether my approach feels like the right fit for you.
Questions
Frequently Asked Questions
Who do you primarily work with?
My practice focuses primarily on adults, including professionals, leaders, entrepreneurs, and other individuals dealing with personal, relationship, career, or life challenges.
I also work with a limited number of high school students, particularly those experiencing anxiety, stress, motivation or confidence concerns, relationship challenges, or difficulty navigating the pressures and transitions of adolescence.
For adolescents, I typically begin with a brief conversation with a parent or guardian to determine whether my approach is an appropriate fit.
What approaches do you use?
My work is individualized and draws from evidence-based psychological approaches, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Positive Psychology, goal-setting, and practical behavior-change strategies. The approach should fit you—not the other way around.
How long are appointments?
Standard appointments are 50 minutes.
What is your fee?
The current fee for an individual therapy appointment is $200. I do offer a sliding scale for those who qualify based on need.
Do you accept insurance?
I currently accept Cigna Medical and Cigna EAP insurance.
Where can you provide virtual therapy?
I am licensed in Arizona and California and authorized through PSYPACT to provide telepsychology to eligible clients in 43 states and participating jurisdictions. Because telehealth laws are based on where you are physically located at the time of the appointment, eligibility will be confirmed before services begin.
How long will I need therapy?
There isn’t one answer for everyone. Some clients come with a clearly defined concern and benefit from relatively focused work. Others want to address more complicated or longstanding issues. We’ll periodically evaluate your progress rather than assuming therapy should continue indefinitely.
Do you also provide executive coaching?
Yes. Executive coaching is offered separately for individuals seeking professional development rather than psychological treatment. If you’re unsure which is the better fit, we can discuss the distinction.
You Don’t Have to Stay Stuck.
You may already know something needs to change. Sometimes what helps is having an experienced psychologist ask the right questions, help you see what may be difficult to see yourself, and turn insight into action.
If you’re ready to move forward, let’s talk.
